Glassy and Rubbery Epoxy Composites with Mesoporous Silica

The reinforcing efficiency of SBA-15-type mesoporous silica, when used as additive in epoxy polymers, was evaluated this study. effects silica loading and its physicochemical characteristics on the thermal, mechanical, viscoelastic properties glassy rubbery mesocomposites were examined using SBA-15 silicas with varying porosities (surface area, pore size, volume), particle sizes, morphologies, organo-functionalization. Three types used: (10) 10 nm diameters long particles, (5) 5 short (sc) particles (“sc” for channel). modified propyl-, epoxy-, amino-groups to study effect functionalization. or polymers produced by crosslinking a diglycidyl ether bisphenol A (DEGBA) resin isophorone diamine (IPD) Jeffaminje D-2000, respectively.
